Medicare Insurance Fraud Targets Seniors - Senior Medicare Scam Alert By Amber Hauptman

With all of the concerns about Medicare insurance, Medigap policies (Medicare supplement plans), and Medicare supplement rates, seniors have enough to worry about without having to worry about getting scammed. Unfortunately, fraud is out there, and it?s a topic we keep having to come back to. We?ve seen senior lottery scams, credit card scams, and more, but now there are even scams targeting seniors that involve Medicare insurance. One of the best ways to protect yourself is simply to be aware of the ways that thieves are trying to target seniors.

"Beware of a phone call from someone claiming to be a representative of Medicare. In reality they're just trying to steal your identity. West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw has raised the warning, saying he's received reports from citizens of his state, and has learned that seniors in neighboring Kentucky have also been targeted." (from Consumer Affairs)

This Medicare Insurance phone fraud is a variation on credit card frauds we?ve seen in the past, and you can be sure that if it?s taking place in West Virginia and Kentucky, it?s taking place in other states, too. These thieves use the guise of Medicare to get seniors? personal information, which can lead to identity theft, financial theft, and more.

The folks over at Senior Corps have laid out the most basic way you can avoid this Medicare scam and any similar scam that?s going on:

"You can avoid Medicare fraud by not giving your personal information to people who may come to your home or call you on the telephone. You should only give your personal information to those who are approved by Medicare or doctors. If you are not sure if the provider is approved by Medicare or not, then there are toll free numbers that you may call to find out this information. If you lose your card, then you should call to report it. Hotlines are available for you to call to report Medicare fraud. Medicare fraud is a serious crime."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation website says that seniors are less likely to "report a fraud because they don?t know who to report it to, are too ashamed at having been scammed or do not know they have been scammed" Therefore we have provided a list of helpful resources that seniors can use to help identify medicare scams and where to report them.

United States Senate has a Special Committee on Aging with a section devoted to Elder Fraud and Abuse
U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services provide a throughough step-by-step process on How to Report a Medicare Fraud
National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, MetLife, Virginia Tech and Mature Market Institute provide a study on Elder Financial Abuse for 2011
The National Consumer Protection Resource Center Devoted an entire website to Senior Medicare Patrols, with links to a Fraud Prevention Summit, Stop Health Care Fraud video and more.
Insuraprise Publications releases a monthly senior newsletter devoted to providing seniors timely news information regarding senior living, senior scam alerts, financial planning and medicare supplemental plans.

Medicare insurance fraud is a serious crime, and it needs to be reported. If you?ve been a victim (or an attempted victim) of Medicare fraud, you need to alert the proper authorities. A number of seniors never report that they have fallen victim to fraud. It?s understandable why, but one way to ensure that it doesn?t happen to somebody else is to make it known that it has happened to you.

Power Balance Firm Made to Offer Refund By John Smithfield

Bracelets that claim to heal or provide you with energy have been around for several years. Scientific research has even confirmed some wristbands who make use of acupressure to provide a basis for their claim. The producers of SeaBand brand wristband, as an example, have a web page for medical professionals that points out over a dozen reputable studies. Other bracelets, particularly of the power band family, have had significant attacks on their credibility, and one has to wonder what type of assertions ionic wristbands could make now and if the assertions have any rationale.

The bracelet makers suffered a huge challenge with the recent intervention with Power Balance by the Austrailian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC). The ACCC has gone so far as to have the company's slogan "performance technology" removed from the product itself. This comes after the 2008 affirmation of a federal district court decision that promotional claims by Q-ray amounted to fraud. The Wellness-Lifestyle bracelets by Q Ray currently promotes starting at $99.99 and up.

After Power Balance?s recent admission about the lack of supporting evidence for Power Balance wrist bands, Power Balance Australia was forced to refund buyers. Power Balance had made statements that the bracelets increased strength, flexibility and balance. They later had to post a disclaimer and offer a full refund to all customers until June 30, 2011. The journalists at ABC's 20/20 conducted an investigation into most of the bracelet manufacturers. iRenew bracelets, an additional leader in the business, was the target of scrutiny however, iRenew bracelets did not seem to be misleading consumers based on the 20/20 segment.

iRenew?s official website calls their application process, which may promote strength, balance and endurance, Selective Frequency Resonance, and their approach has been examined at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Subjects from the study did notice strength and balance gains while wearing iRenew bands compared to participants who wore a placebo as reported by the study.Several websites, none of which are officially related to iRenew, claim to describe exactly how the iRenew works employing terms like biofield technology. Retailers who industry iRenew make statements that appear to be from iRenew but for the official iRenew claims about their bracelets we go to the iRenew site. iRenew only identifies a Southwestern Oklahoma State University study involving the performance of iRenew bracelets and according to the study subjects had been 80% less likely to create balance errors and performed additional than 15% better in strength tests. The bulk of the page states iRenew?s "commitment to research," but the actual data and claims are certainly few. Energy Balance?s claims led to close examination and reprimand in Australia, iRenew has been careful to avoid this by only stating that the iRenew bracelets may possibly promote strength, balance, and endurance.

The question remains: do items created by Power Balance , Q-Ray, and iRenew perform as promised? It would appear that some of the claims are not backed by evidence. With the three companies leading this field, iRenew could be the only business supporting claims it makes with research.

I recently purchased the Swtor Secrets, 1-50 leveling guide. It ended up being a scam and let me tell you why.

At first, I was very happy with my purchase. The installation literally took minutes. It took me about a week to get from level 1 to 11 (without the guide). In another week (with the guide), I went from level 11 to 47! Then before I know it, I hit level 50 and I was no longer a 'noob'.

The amazing strategies really do work here. It basically gives you a little interface that tells you exactly what to do next, and what monsters to defeat. Not only that, but it has multiple guides covering several zones. Now, I only used one of the guides, but I must say I was very impressed.

I felt great, being level 50 allows you to do more amazing things and you could join up with the top players. Explore the end-game content yourself with your new level 50 mates. If it weren't for this guide, I would of be stuck in between level 11-20, wasting my life away on a game. With this guide, I can do what I need to do each day on the game and spend my time with the family which is a great!

But here is the catch. I recommended this product to a friend so he could level up as quickly as I did. I emailed him a link and his response stunned me. He told me that I had paid too much for the guide, and you can get the same thing for much cheaper. I felt ripped off.

How do you get it for cheaper? You use special discount links that come off paid subscription sites. Just for you, I have copied the HTML of one of these special coupons directly into this article. Just click the coupon below to the Swtor Secrets Guide for the cheapest possible price!

http://50d01thuih0cr3uc0duit8st35.hop.clickbank.net/
(Sorry, the images in here aren't working. This link is to lead you to a sales page about this amazing product at discounted price).

Have fun playing SWTOR with your new killer guide! This coupon might not last forever. Since it is supposed to be available to paid subscription users only, public access will not always be available. So be swift about it.

Have a good day.

Esources Scam - The Bundle Of Lies Stands Exposed By Brad Smith

If you come across articles about esources scam, it is important to note that none of the articles provide anything by way of proof. The detractors make every attempt to pull down the reputation of the site and damage its public image. However, despite their best attempts, they have not been able to dent the reputation of esources one wee bit.

Esources is the largest wholesale directory of verified UK wholesalers, distributors, importers, exporters, dropshippers and manufacturers. They allow their members to browse through their wholesale directory and get in touch with the suppliers and dropshippers of their choice to fill the orders of their customers.

Hundreds of users of esources know by now that the esources scam is nothing but an attempt to tarnish their reputation by those whose nefarious activities have been exposed in the past by esources. It is confirmed beyond doubt that esources is the most trusted resource of verified wholesalers and dropship companies on the web today. They have over 70,000 trade distributors and 3,000 dropshippers on their extensive list, which is growing every month.

Esources scam is a joke because they verify over 3,000 new resources every month and keep the online trading community informed of the many dropship scams and rip offs on the Internet. They are dedicated to protecting the interests of traders and go through a great deal of effort to unearth scams during their earliest stages so their effect is restricted.

Feedbacks from real members of the portal reveal the immense advantages the site provides to the online trading community as compared to any other wholesale directory portal. Middlemen fearing exposure of their acts by esources cry esources scam on every forum just to create doubts in the minds of genuine users of their services.

Esources does not entertain listing requests from wholesalers who refuse to undergo their verification processes. Members are never exposed to dubious suppliers or dropshipper with questionable reputation. That precisely is the reason why the fastest growing portal is attacked by scammers. Esources have even gone to the extent of banning suppliers who do not deliver quality products and services that fail to meet the expectation of their clients. It is eminently clear that the best wholesale directory on the web is heavily in favor of buyers rather than suppliers.

Esources.co.uk scam reports are an attempt to malign the site in the eyes of wholesalers and trade buyers. However, the experience of thousands of satisfied buyers and sellers reveal a diametrically opposite view of the portal. The important role that esources has played in improving their business prospects cannot be denied.

The SEO scams By Conrad Timmons

If you are paying a company less than five hundred a month for Search Engine Optimization, then you are being scammed. The SEO industry is chasing small businesses, like carpet cleaning firms, house cleaning companies, and restaurants with cheap, inexpensive SEO plans. Typically costing a hundred or two hundred dollars a month.

What are they doing for this price? NOTHING! They may set up some online profiles for you, or list your company on different websites, but that is barely the beginning of your marketing campaign.

A local company in San Diego, called SIXeed (a web development company) offers small businesses marketing options, but no package under eight hundred a month. Because to properly gain Search Engine traction, Jack Rankin, with SIXeed tells me you need to have a dedicated campaign. You need articles written about your company and submitted on dozens of websites every couple months. You also need videos being filmed and tagged and placed on at least 2-4 video websites. You need social marketing, twitter, Facebook and many more.

How can a company promise you front page on google under broad search terms, if they are not going to be doing all of this?

Most SEO companies that charge you a tiny monthly fee are doing nothing to truly benefit your company! NOTHING! These are things you could do yourself!

I have owned my house cleaning company for years and many times received phone calls from these SEO companies, promising me results that are not possible for the very little amount of money they wanted me to pay. Do you mean to tell me that a small fee of a hundred dollars a month is going to get me the advertising that another dozen companies in my industry are paying thousands of dollars for? Impossible.

I hope that my article helped you understand where to keep your money...in your pocket. Spend the couple hours a month marketing yourself. No one will do it better than you! Or pay a real fee to get real results you dream of.

Putting Telephone Scams on Hold By Gord And Gertie Guide

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
Telemarketing fraud has become a billion dollar industry worldwide. Every year, thousands of consumers are victims of telephone con artists. The losses can be a little as a few dollars to entire life savings. There are no barriers to this kind of crime as it's not limited to age, race, ethnic background or gender, we are all potential targets.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has become increasingly aggressive with its crackdown of this type of fraud with significant jail time and hefty fines for people who are convicted. Sadly, we often hear of people who have been victimized this way but will not contact the authorities because they are too embarrassed to admit they were taken in.

The best way to protect yourself is to know the differences between legitimate offers, scams and how they target you.

The Contact List

Cold Calls - The telephone directory is a simple yet effective tool for con artists to contact you and start a dialogue in hopes of gathering additional information from you.

Mailing list - These lists contain information about people who have responded to previous solicitations and already have the name, phone number, and how much money was spent. The lists can be bought and sold by anyone and are invaluable to scam artists.

Direct Mail - You may get a notice stating you have won a prize or a contest and be instruct to respond with specific information. You will then be called using the information you provided with a hard sales pitch or false claim.

Television and Print Ads - You may have placed an order from a magazine or a television ad. Your information based on that order is funneled and sold in order to contact you for additional and future sales. The fact that you initiate the call doesn?t mean the business is legitimate.

Often it?s hard to tell whether a sales call is legitimate. You may have a valid interest in the products that are being offered and telephone con artists are skilled at sounding caring and believable.

They are quick to elicit information from their victims and play on their needs such as loneliness or poor health. Unfortunately, the elderly are a prime target.

How Can You Protect Yourself?

Thankfully, we are becoming savvier to these fraudsters. Here are a few tips to remember when that unsolicited call does come in. Don?t allow yourself to be pressured in making a decision immediately.Don?t give your credit card, checking account, or Social Security number to anyone unless you have initiated the call and know exactly who is getting the information.Don?t pay for something merely because you?ll get a "free gift."Don?t send cash by messenger or overnight mail. By using your credit card, you have the option of canceling any suspicious transactions./li> Don?t agree to any offer where you have to pay a "registration" or "shipping fee".Don?t confirm your account information over the phone. If you are requested to do so, ask for the head office number and call at a later date.Request for written information on a Charity before you decide to donate.Don?t be afraid to say "no thanks" and hang up the phone.Check out any unsolicited offers with your local consumer protection agency or the Better Business Bureau. You can access this information online or from the telephone directory.

You can also register to be on the National DO NOT CALL list. It?s a free and easy way to reduce the amount of telemarketing calls and your number will remain on the list for life. If you don't want a business to call you again then say so. If they call back, report them, they are breaking the law.

Anyone can fall prey to telemarketing scams and with the variety and complexities of con artists today, it?s becoming increasingly important to get the word out on the best way to protect ourselves and those we care about.
